Napier

Today I went to Napier with Anna-Lena! We met at 11:40 in Havelock Village, at the busstop and then took the bus to Hastings. Then another bus to Napier, which took us around 1 hour 20 to get there. We found our way to the city centre and we walked trough the shoppingzone and went into a few shops and bought a few things here and there. It was really nice. But finally my legs were a bit sore so we decided to get our lunch and  because we actually had no idea where to go, we just went to Subway and ate our Sandwich next to the beach, which was perfectly fine!

Then we walked along the beach to get to the National Aquarium and there we were just in time to see how the penguins are being fed and then we made our way through the aquarium and we had a really nice time. We saw a lot of fish, sharks and even an some aligators, tortules and a lot of more animals, but the aquarium is still pretty small for being the national aquarium!

We went trough a tunnel under the aquarium which gave us a great and impressive point of view, but the pictures aren't really good, because of the glass..

There were some divers in the aquarium who were swiming around

AND...

We saw a Kiwi!! This bird is night active, so he was in a darkroom with only a minimum light so it was really hard to get a nice picture, but I hope you can get an impression from these few pics!

Some holiday homes, with a wonderful view to the seaside!

Then we walked back to the town centre and got an icecream. Then we were walking a bit around and then at 5:20 or so, Anna's hostfather gave us a ride back to Havelock, because he works in Napier.

Napier is a lovely town with palms all around and a nice sea flair, it's very nice and compfortable to spend the day there!

  1. Moi aussi je veux aller voir l'aquarium, même s'il est petit.... Waou, un kiwi, quelle chance. Oui, pas mal les photos, ça donne une idée. Vraiment Napier donne envie. Merci de ce beau reportage.
