Havelock North - a tiny bit of history

SO my hostmother explained me that Havelock North hasn't always been as big as it is now. Ten years ago, a lot of people were searching for a lifestylechange and decided to come to Hawke's bay with its nice weather. So that's the reason why there are so many new houses. But then there was like an economic crises and a lot of people lost money because they had invested in the wrong projects. So the town stopped growing, but now, there are again new houses that are being build.

And in fact here there are quite a few vineries, and these are often richer people and these old money have a lot of power and influence in Havelock, otherwise in the village, the people living in the big houses just invested everything in their build.
