First impressions of Sevilla - Spain

It's been quite a while I haven't posted anything new. I took a new step into andulthood and decided to work as an Au-Pair for a while in Spain.

More exactly in Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia

So what is an Au-Pair? Here is a definition I found:
An au pair (plural: au pairs) is a domestic assistant from a foreign country working for, and living as part of, a host family. Typically, au pairs take on a share of the family's responsibility for childcare as well as some housework, and receive a monetary allowance for personal use. Au pair arrangements are subject to government restrictions which specify an age range usually from mid-late teens to mid to late twenties; some countries explicitly limit the arrangement to females.

In other words, I am taking care of kids in a family in Sevilla. I live in their flat and eat with them together. I have a few chores I have to do, but they are all related with the children as the family accupies a maid for the housework. I work during the week and am free on weekends which allows me to travel around and discover Andalusia and its surroundings.

In the mornings, I go to language school. It is a good opportunity to meet new people and the school organizes activities in the weekends. I will start school tomorrow morning.

Following, I will show a few photos with the first impressions I got when I arrived here.

In my area, which is the subburb Santa Clara, there are a lot of appartment blocks

but also smaller houses

It is very typical to go to little shops which are very specific, for instance a fruit shop, meat shop etc.

but there are also supermarkets

As you can see, the soil is dry, sandy, but there are a lot of trees and green plants

Bike lanes are everywhere in town. As the town is very flat, it is ideal to ride the bike. I want to go to school by bike, but it is also difficult for me because in the morning there is a lot of traffic and I don't know the way to school that good yet, so I will try slowly as I lost myself on a bike tour today.

Finally, here you can see the view I got from the rooftop of the appartment block. It has 9 floors and you can see till the city center as the tower in the background is next to the river in the center.

Here ends my first blogpost from Spain. But there will be more. My next one will be about the center of Sevilla. I haven't seen everything yet, but what I have seen is BEAUTIFUL. 

My way to school part 2

Because now, i will be here for less than a months, i thought it's about time to post some more, things i want to be able to remember later an see from time to time again. So here is another post of my daily way to school, just that i am starting from school an going to the trainstation, and i usually do it the other way around, because in the afternoon i go to another trainstation.

So enjoy, the way is quite nice with a lot of green. It is a little out of the centre, so that's why there are a lot of appartment lots.

Žilina is an industrial city, so that's why there are a lot of industrial Buildings which might also look a bit old fashioned, a lot of them have been build during the socialist period

Here are some photos from when i took the train on sunday, and as proof there is even the reflection of the train windows in some photos, enjoy!

So you can see the landscape i see every day, a lot of green, forest, hills and farmers land.
Every village, no matter how small has its footballfield, i really like this one, just mown in a randome field, a little bit outside of the village.
You can see typical houses and also a lonly rock, which is quite impressing me!
At the end you can see a place where little cottages out of wood are built in rajec and finally my trainstation.
